We met at through a mutual homie named Red Rum
What are you bringing to hip hop?
Were bringing the ash to hip hop. Everybody claims they keep it real were just trynna keep it ashy. Pus were bringing originality back to the game most rappers and rap groups are just mirrors of whos hot right now or whatever formula worked for the last 80 rappers. We dont work on a formula we do what we want and bring our best to everything we do whether its in the booth or on the stage.
How are you going about marketing Ashy elbowz?
Man our marketting strategy is just in our name. We want whenever you hear the word ash you think of us, when you hear some ASHford and Simpson, watch punked with ASHton Cutcher, if you get a rASH, cASH a check, use a flASH drive, crASH ya car, or ya crazy ex slASHes ya tires think of us. Plus we dropped our debut album "No Lotion" feat. Donnell Ashy Larry Rawlings Ash Wednesday 2008 and plan to release our sophmore album Ash Wednesday 2009 and another one every Ash Wednesday after that till they get the point.
Do you have a large team behind you?
We got a big team of supporters from our blocks friends and fam, but we get even more support from people we dont know personally who feel what were doing. The ASH-Hole nation is strong sh*t even you guys over at spate are honorary Ash Holes. Shout out to Madman, Carlos and Antoine
Who are you listening to right now?
Besides ourselves, that new Nas, Gnarles Barkley and a bunch a undeground cds we get at all the showcases we do. Gotta check out the competition you know
How long have you guys been in the game?
We been doing this long enough to know what we been doing wrong and to finally get it right
How to you feel about Barack Obama?
Us and Barrack are very similiar his campaign is about change, and so is our music. Hopefully we can enjoy the same type of success he has had and more. Maybe hell invite us to the inaugural party to perform or something
Do you believe in god? If so how has god
played a role in your life?
We definatley believe in God I mean we dont go to church or nothing but theres gotta be something bigger than us. If you take time to see how small you really are compared to the universe how can you not believe in God. God is who keeps us focused and able to survive on this planet and continue to make great music not everybody can rap and not everyone can rap well that ability by itself is God send
Where do you see yourself 3 years from now?
Wit a couple Grammys on our 5th group album 3rd solo each and watching all the new groups coming up copying our style. You know the emergence of groups like the chapped lips, the dry skin dudes the hang nail boys....lol
